MISSION AND HUMANITARIAN DONATIONS

During a humanitarian mission to GHANA, you will have the opportunity to bring some sun to the children of orphanages and to many disadvantaged children. By supporting local staff, our volunteers give them the attention, the exchanges and the games they need to build themselves.

Culture & Community Project in GHANA.

If you are not afraid of getting your hands dirty and you like manual work, our work in Africa will fill you. You will work in an African village. You will join a team of volunteers and, in collaboration with the local population, you will build and rehabilitate simple buildings, schools or houses. In addition to this work, you will be able to participate in another ongoing project in the region: the development of a community garden. Missions that guarantee you genuine integration into the Togolese community!

Teaching Mission in GHANA (French, English)

Volunteers are placed primarily in schools in the rural area of BOCHWE, where they teach English, French or mathematics, physical science, biology and others to older children. Teaching missions are also available to MADINA and ACCRA! In some schools, you can teach French, in addition to another subject of your choice. We also offer computer classes to the children of BOCHWE, to teach them how to use a computer. Join us: your commitment is essential to improve future prospects in Africa!

Sports Coaching Mission in GHANA

During a humanitarian mission in sport in GHANA, volunteers have many opportunities. In this country of West Africa, football is everywhere; it's the national sport. But GHANA are also keen on football. And little by little, basketball makes its place also, thanks to our volunteers! Participate in the training of local teams, the supervision of junior teams, sports meetings and matches between schools or sports clubs. Whatever your level of sports in football, basketball or rugby, your help and your involvement will be welcome in this mission of sports coaching in GHANA.

By participating in an international YAID-GHANA project, you choose to be jointly and severally active in a concrete project of general interest; you have the chance to meet people and cultures that are different from yours. It is also an opportunity to discover the joys and sorrows of these populations. You will simply open up to another world and live it differently.

YAID-GHANA's humanitarian missions can take many different forms and you can also specify your preferences when you register. If you want to work with children in a relationship of knowledge transmission, you can also consider a mission teaching (especially language teaching) or mission coaching. Students in training in the social or medico-social field can validate their humanitarian mission as an agreed internship.

Volunteers engage in permanent care facilities in a peaceful environment. YAID-GHANA never intervenes in crisis situations such as natural disasters, armed conflicts or famines.

In general, YAID-GHANA volunteers work alongside local permanent staff who often do not have enough time to take care of each child, patient, needy person, etc.

As a volunteer in an orphanage for example, you will teach children things that unfortunately their parents can not teach them. By involving you in the daily life of orphanages, you help prepare children for their adult life.

In street children's projects, you may be able to distribute meals, organize literacy classes or simply play with the children to make them forget about the dangers of the street for a few happy moments.

Third example: volunteers who engage in crèches in disadvantaged neighborhoods not only stimulate babies or small children in their development, but also allow mothers to go to work knowing that their children are in good hands.

Qualifications required to participate in a humanitarian mission

The vast majority of our humanitarian missions do not require any particular qualification or training. Your energy, your enthusiasm and your willingness to help are the most important.

That said, we will try to make the best use of your talents, your experience and your professional or extra-professional skills. After your registration, the local teams of YAID-GHANA will take moreover to tell you

ountry Activities

specify what you can contribute to identify the partner organization where you can be most useful.

Volunteers with medical or paramedical experience can be particularly valuable for some humanitarian missions that involve caring for disabled or sick people. If you are a student or a confirmed professional in any of the categories below, our Medecine programs may also interest you:

    Doctors
    Nurses
    Midwives
    Physiotherapists
    Occupational Therapists
    Etc.

Humanitarian mission as an internship

If you are a student in a social or medico-social formation (university, Bac + 2, etc.), the associations and other partner organizations with which we work can sign an internship agreement. Contact us to discuss your project in more detail.

Audiences targeted by our humanitarian missions

    orphans
    Street children
The deaf and hard of hearing
    blind
People with Down syndrome (trisomy 21)
    Mentally handicapped
    Physical handicapped
    AIDS / HIV patients
    Seniors, seniors
    Children in kindergarten
    Babies in nursery

Many people ask us to work specifically with orphans. Although this is a noble project, we wish to emphasize explicitly that misery can have many faces in our countries of action and that the presence of parents is far from guaranteeing a carefree life. For example, it is common for children to receive a meal just before leaving our day nursery or maternal partners to ensure they eat before going to bed. Parents unfortunately do not always have the opportunity to provide an evening meal to their children.

On the other hand, the structures called "orphanages" can accommodate both single children and children who still have their mother, their father or both. They are sometimes forced to place their child in an "orphanage" because they can not provide for the daily needs of their offspring.

OUR MISSIONS IN EDUCATION

Our missions in the field of education are fundamental points of the association YAID or GHANA, to help children to become better young people.

Missions of school support in schools and orphanages, our missions of literacy courses, sports and animation allow our volunteers to supervise a group of people.

You can participate in these volunteer missions even if you do not have teaching experience. The subjects taught are mathematics and French. (Sciences, grammars, conjugations, general culture ...), but if you are in the field of sports educator, you can do a sports supervision mission with children.

School supporting

During the school year, trainees or volunteers work in classrooms with a teacher to help children in difficulty, by raising their problems to understand the lessons. The volunteers receive a program to follow and the teachers help them to establish their own schedule. In the orphanage, the same method of work is always used: the volunteers help the children by assisting them with their homework, reading, and writing.

Faced with the socio-political disturbances that have long been hindering the normal course of school years; the education is esquintée.

It is with this problem that the organizing committee has set up school support projects to supplement the unfinished programs and to ensure a good academic recovery of students.

These projects will bring together volunteers willing to share their knowledge and experiences.

Daily 4 hours will be affected during the morning. The afternoon will be devoted to cultural and recreational activities so your students will become your teachers for local language classes.

Volunteers bring school supplies and gifts for the fair at the end of the construction.

            Socio-cultural animation

Animation activities are often in the afternoon. This is an opportunity to go to play on a playground where children can indulge in their favorite sports.

Volunteers can teach children new games and conversely, children often teach volunteers local games that are mostly based on dance and rhythm. The children will be happy to teach you, in turn, everything they know.

This exchange is important and strengthens the links between children and volunteers. Here are some games and occupations that we often find during children's free time:

Recitations, songs and dances (tam-tam, djembe)
    Stories of stories and stories
    Educational games with children.

· These initiatives play a very important role as a motivator for children with limited leisure time. It is an effective way of persuading them of the interest of studying to work later in an area that will please them.

· If you are passionate about football, you can also participate in setting up a football club in your school.

           Literacy Court

It is basically about giving young people and elderly people in rural areas literacy classes.

You will face people of all ages and all levels, but all come with the desire to learn and the exchange is very enriching.

You will begin by observing the course that will be given by a local volunteer and will be invited to participate in the course or even to give one in its entirety if you wish.

AIDS prevention and sex education in villages

You will have the opportunity to organize educational talks in the surrounding villages to inform the villagers about sexuality, the dangers of unprotected sex, and existing contraceptive methods.

It is important in these villages to inform young people about the steps to take. This will allow young girls in particular to feel supported. Indeed, it is the female population that has the most difficulty facing the problem of unwanted pregnancies that often leads them to stop their studies very prematurely.

Unfortunately, we observe a growing female population in high school. The majority of girls stop their studies at the beginning or even the middle of their high school cycle.
